All Hypr Canoes are built with Divinicel foam core sandwiched between 2 outer layers of composite materials. The foam core covers a minimum of 93% of the canoe surface area. This imparts unparalleled stiffness in the canoe with the hull and deck working together to create an impregnable shell. This allows the paddler to surf and carve better in ocean swells big and small, while also vastly improving durability and longevity. Having their own factory allows Hypr Canoes founder Ian Foo to continually push the mantra "Higher Quality, Innovation & Lower Prices". Hypr canoes introduces this super stiff seamless option for all its canoe designs. Hypr is also the only manufacturer that offers a 3 part metallic paint finish process for high gloss, toughness and long term durability that one only finds in high end luxury vehicles. PPG (USA’s largest paint supplier) paint systems consists of a base primer, base coat, and clear coat that offers weight savings over Gel Coats. The clear coat prevents fading from repeated polishing and sun damage basically keeping your canoe looking new longer.

WAVE BLADE, VANTAGE, HOKULEA

Wilder Canoes has been in business since 1990. Steve Blyth founded Wilder Canoe in 1990 after many years of paddling experience. The quality of Wilder made canoes has made them a leader in the industry.  Individual attention to detail and the highest quality materials produce the finest canoes ever made.

Wilder Steamship Company was founded in 1890 by Samuel Wilder who also founded the Mahukona Railroad.  After Samuel Wilder's passing, sadly, the companies did not continue and were sold out to Matson.  In honor of the Wilder name, Steve Blyth established his company as "Wilder" Canoe.  This was done to honor the Wilder family that had created a name for itself over a century ago and deserved to be remembered.

MAKIA and PAHOA

Design - Tiger Canoes have been designed for the discriminating paddler, for whom appearance, performance and quality are the most important factors. World champion paddler, Mark Rigg and Tahitian canoe builder, Jean Claude Brander teamed up with Tiger in '99 to design Tiger Canoe & Kayak’s first successful OC-1, the Ono. The hull was originally designed in Tahiti and then brought to Hawaii where it was modified with surfing attributes. This started a new trend..... designing canoes to surf. The Kolea came next, offering a slightly smaller canoe than the Ono with excellent surfing capabilities. Both canoes have their niche, and while designed to perform well in Hawaii's open-ocean surfing conditions, they were not necessarily ideal in flat water conditions. The next challenge came to design a canoe that would perform well in all conditions.....the boat all canoe builders strive for and the boat that all paddlers yearn for.
